Just a tease !

So this summer has been so busy. I am really going to try and keep up on my blog. For now I have put just a couple of pictures from July's activies. This next week I will blog in detail about each of our summer activities.
Tyson was able to come home from Afghanistan for a short visit. While he was here of course to the dismay of my family we did take a new family picture. I had to promise that there would not be any kind of color theme , or that we would not have to go to some "special" place. So here we are in the front yard.
No matter who's pictures I am doing after we get done we have to have a fun picture. I should start doing this picture first to loosen everyone up. P.S. Emily. I said pull a face... not cover up your face. LOL
The reason Tyson was able to come home was because he and his beautiful wife had their first baby on July 10th. Meet Jordan Scott Davies. 8lbs 9oz 21 inches long and a week past his due date. First I was sure that he was going to come on the 4th of July in honor of his Dad serving our Country. But then I was sure that he was holding out until his Dad got here. But because of some travel problems he came the day before his Dad got here. But he is here, healthy and beautiful.

We all took a day off work and went up to Payson Lake while Tyson and Lauren were here. We had so much fun. Why is it that we have this lake 30 minutes away and we never go there. Everyone had a great time. The kids were not sure at first about going out into the "deep" water, but once the guys stopped teasing them, they had a ball.
I am pretty sure that Erika wanted this duck and see who the biggest tease is....

Just this last weekend we had our Garbe Reunion... We went up to Chris and Debbie's property in Avintaquin Canyon. It is beautiful there. Everyone had a great time. I got up Saturday morning with a migraine from ----. I was so bugged because I missed out on most of the day. But I still have some great pictures.. More to come. Kevin was the only sibling that was not there. We missed him. Trent and Emily had a family reunion in CA . So Tiffany, Adam & kids were the only family I had there. Looking forward to next year as Tyson will be home and we will be changing the weekend so that Trent and Emily are not in CA for the Smith reunion.
Thanks to the Hales family who was in charge this year. You are all awesome.

Be sure to watch this week for more , more and some more pictures from the summer.

It's Almost July !!!

So we made it through May. Of course everything went just fine. June has been just about as crazy. The first weekend our "Bunco" group went camping. We have six couples who have gotten together once a month for dinner for over 10 years. I love these people, they are our best friends. We have camped together, vacationed together, pulled off weddings together, we have been through sad times and happy times together. I just don't tell them enough how much I love and appreciate them.
The next weekend Robert and I went from Thursday to Saturday with the Young Women of our ward for our Certification Camp. We have done this now for a couple of years. We get ALL of our Certification done so that while we are at Stake Camp we can have fun. And we do.
Robert had the ward Father's and Son's the 3rd weekend. Trent, Oakley were able to go with him and I think they had a good time. They did miss Tyson though.
July is really just around the corner now and I am looking so forward to it. There is of course lots of camping. Trent and Emily are blessing Lexi . Girls Camp. Tyson and Lauren's baby Jordan birth-day, and Tyson coming home for a week or so some time in July. Not sure of the dates yet, but when I know I will let everyone know so we can get together. You know I am always looking for a reason for a party.
I have sewing like crazy to do.... So many projects, so much material, where is my sewing room ? Some friends are getting together to sew every Thursday evening. I am going to try and fit it in my schedule. LOL
Sorry no pictures I will get them off my camera and share.

Is it July yet ?

OK , so I have been a big time slacker for the last several weeks. So here is a quite update. Back in April we had told Harley that we would go camping during spring break. She loves to camp as much as we do. In fact she gets a little ticked if we go on the weekend that she is at her Dad's. We have learned that we can not tell her. Anyway we are planning on going Wednesday the 15th after work. When we get up the weather is crappy and it just gets worse as the day goes on. We decide that we probably are not going to go, and then the alligator tears start, you promised. So you guessed it we hooked up the trailer and headed up to Diamond Fork. Thursday morning I had to go to work, we get up at 7:00 and Robert had to shovel, yes shovel 7-8 inches of snow just so I could get to the car. Thursday was a pretty good day and by noon the snow was gone. So they had a great day while I was gone. Besides the snow that morning it was a great weekend.
Emily & the girls spent pretty much the month of April in CA. so we delayed our Easter celebration until they got home. A couple of years ago I decided that along with the kids Easter egg hunt I was going to have one for the adults. Well let me tell you I think my kids now like Easter as much as Christmas. I can not even show you pictures because they never work out. I am laughing so hard they are just blurry. They are all pretty competitive. I always want to even out the eggs in the end so every gets the same amount and they say NO way, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit. And when there is money involved you better watch out they may just leave shoe marks on your back.
Now to May.. We have a dance competition, dance recital, bridal shower that I am in charge of on the same day as my Young Women make 125 mother's day corsages. A wedding, a missionary homecoming, a baby shower that again I am in charge of. And to top it off so far about 6 graduation pictures and announcements to do.
This is all besides mine and Roberts regular busy schedule. During the week we pretty much say Hi and Bye as we pass each other in the doorway. Oh how I miss the days when my kids were little and I could just play with them. I guess this is what keeps us young. Or is going to kill us.
Now lets not even start with June. Annual couple Bunco trip to St. George, 2 night Young Women's Certification Camp, Father and Son's (yeah, I will have a night off ) and our Ward youth conference for two days.
But really I am grateful that I am able to do what I can. I am so thankful for good health, a great husband and the church and our callings that keep us going. I am thankful for good kids who are always there to help when they can.

Happy 30th

Robert and I were married 30 years ago today. I am pretty sure that there were a bunch of people that wondered or hoped that this marriage would work or last. But I knew that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. On April 11th 1979 I just thought that I loved Robert. I love him more each day that I spend with him. Here we are respectfully almost 18 and 19 years years old. (Love those side burns) oh were they hot back then. One year later on April 11th 1980 we were able to take our precious Trent to Manti Temple and be sealed for time and all eternity. What a wonderful day in our lives. Thanks to our family who stuck by us and did not give up on us.
This picture was taken last year. I must say that we have age marvelously. LOL For real I can not believe that it has been 30 years. Where does the time go?
30 years later, here is our little family. Since this picture in October Trent and Emily have had little Lexi and Tyson and Lauren are going to add another "little man" in July. This picture was taken just before Tyson left for Fort Richardson in Alaska. And I choose this picture so that you would know the TRUE Davies clan. This is us, crazy, fun and always trying to have a good time.
I want ALL our family thanks for your support all the time. Thanks for loving us. We love all of you. And I want all my kids and grandkids to know that We love you. I just don't know what I would do without you. YOU guys really are our life. And last but not least Robert. I am looking forward to the next 30. I love you... MORE.

So Proud

Tyson finally sent some pictures of him. I have not been able to talk to him and get the details about the pictures, but it was just so awesome to see him. I hope that he knows how proud we are of him.

He did say that this was the tower that he is in during his watch. Hopefully there will be many more pictures to come.
As excited as I was to see these pictures, I look at them and it is like it is not real. These are the pictures that I look at of someone else's son. But this time it is not, it IS my son. (love you Ty)
Have I told you how excited I am for July ? Tyson and Lauren will be having their "little man" and some time in July Ty will be able to come back to the states for a couple of weeks. Can not wait.
We love you, we miss you, can not wait to see you and we are so proud of you. We are so proud of what you are doing and what you are doing for all of us.

Where's the Sun

I hate winter. I hate being cold. Did I say I hate winter ? I am hoping that spring is around the corner. Anyway just a quick update. (Jill). A week or so ago we went over to Jumpin Jacks for FHE. It was a blast. The kids both little and big had a great time. If you have not been there you need to try it.
Last week was our Stake Conference. We had Jeffery Holland visiting. It was awesome. I will have to dedicate some time just to tell you more about that later. General Conference is in a week, can not wait... St. George here we come.
This week has been crazy, work is just work and then on top of it my license is renewing so I had to take one whole day and sit through classes from 8 to 8. I would rather be to work. Now I have some online tests to take and thankfully I will done for a couple more years.
My kids have been telling me I am out of it because I did not have a face book account. I told them that I can just barley keep up with the blogging thing. But Tiffany has now set up an account for me. Not really sure how to work it or what to do with it so stay tuned.
Tyson is safe and doing good. He thinks his job is boring but boring is good for me. I am hoping that boring is safe. I am so proud of him and what he is doing. But I can not wait until his year is done.
Lastly, I am so grateful for a great husband. He is so loving, kind and patient with me. Right now with work and church we mostly just pass coming or going. But I am so grateful for his love of the gospel, his kindness for others and reminding me of the things that are important and not to worry so much about the things that are not so important.
He is the best thing that every happened to me. 30 years ago I thought that I loved him. But I love him more today than ever. He is my best friend.
Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Beautiful

We took picture's of Trent and Emily's family on Sunday. Because of basketball games every night this week I am just getting to these picture's this morning. Here are some of my favorites..

Sorry I know lots of pictures, but I can never decide on just one of two. I did decide that little Lexi has a page out of her sister's book... every time we got the camera out and ready she did not want to participate. But we have learned that you just take them and be happy.
Stay tuned for pictures and up date of Brandon and Provo High School... We are just getting ready to leave for Salt Lake to watch them try to win the championship in 4A for the 3rd year in a row.
P.S. Talked to Tyson on IM this morning it was short but he said that he was doing good. He loves everyone and misses everyone. I am hoping to get to talk to him again this weekend. Thanks for everyones love, support and prayers on his behalf.

She's Here !!!

Alexis Kamryn Davies 8lbs 13 oz 20 1/2 inches long. Born at 3:21
They started Emily at about 8:00 this morning and when I talked with Trent at about 1:00 she was dilated to a 4. Then he called at about 2:30 or so and she was a 6. Then he called at about 3:10 and she was at a 10 and it would be about 15 minutes. Before we even got the the center street exit he texts and said She's here. So once she got to a 4-6 everything went pretty fast.
As we were driving over Erika asked if her new baby sister was coming with a tinker bell outfit ?

She looks just like Erika did when she was born. Maybe more hair, and we can see the hair.
It took her a minute to warm up and even want to get close to her, but it did not take long for her to decide that she was OK

However as usual Erika did not want her picture taken. Trent's 3 girls... Aren't they all beautiful

Look at those soft chubby cheeks

She is not sure she wants to call her Lexi... she says she is just my baby sister. Today was kind of crazy, so watch the next couple of days for some better pictures.

6:30 a.m.

So Tyson leaves in the morning at 6:30am. This is so like a dream to me. I keep thinking this is not real and he is not really leaving. But he called tonight to say goodbye, and yes he is really leaving. I really am so proud of him, but I think that this is the hardest thing that I have ever had to face. I did find out today that he will not be taking his phone with him. But he will still have his laptop so at least we can email daily and blog. I do have his physical address and his military email and personal email, but we did not think that it was a good idea to put them on the blog, so if you want them, give me a call and I will give them to you. He would love to hear from everyone. I am kind of in a not so happy mood so I am going to cut this short. However to end on a brighter note. Tyson and Lauren did find out what their baby is today. I will not tell right now, so watch Lauren's blog for details.
Tyson we love you so much, we are so proud of you. Please be careful and don't be afraid to talk to your Heavenly Father. I miss you already.

Sorry !!!

Sorry, Please don't look to close at this last post. I sent it through without spell checking and I am pretty sure it is bad. Because I am the world's worst speller. So sorry

This is really Tuesday's post !!

As for #7 on yesterday's post.
1986 was a fun year for the Garbe family. There are 5 siblings in my family and 4 of the 5 women were due to have babies between January and April. Robert and I were especially excited because it had been 5 years since we had a baby. My brother's son Chad was born January 13th. Gerald's Daughter Whitney was born February 28th. I was due March 27th. but that day came and went. My sister Melinda had Chantel on April 1st. Back in that day they did not do ultrasound's like they do now. They really only done them if there was a problem. Anyway when I was 2 weeks past my due date the doctor sent me for an ultrasound. They told us that we had just miscaluated, by a month. I thought oh well , I am already two weeks past the first due date , so with only two weeks to go I could have him any time. I was good. Well the second due date came and went and by this time I am hugh. I mean I could barley walk. On my doctor visit about the second Tuesday of May I told the doctor, I am going to the hospital on Thursday to have this baby, you can either come or not. He did set up the enducing for that day. That day was so long, I just did not progress very well. I kept telling them that something was wrong, but we all know when you are having a baby they know it all, they know how you fill, they know that you are gong to be alright. I really wanted to hurt someone. Finally the next morning the doctor said lets just break her water and see if that will help. It did help and away to the delivery room we went. When Tyson was finally born he was rapped in the longest
ambilicord cord that you have ever seen. He was rapped like a mummy from his neck with his arms to his sides down to his knees. The doctor said.. Oh this was probably the problem, because of being rapped up like that he could not drop and do what he is suppose to do. And heck it is good that this was so long or during the birth he probably would not have made it. I was so mad, remember me the stupid mother telling them that something was wrong. But what do I know. Anyway Tyson was born weighing 9 lbs 5 oz. and 21 inches long. He ended up being the caboose in our little family and he is a great caboose.
So sorry for the horror story for all those women who are currently pregnant and wanting a baby today, yesterday or last week.
Tyson, we love you.

Love you Tyson.

Tyson

Tyson has always been my child who at the drop of the hat he would decide that he was going to do something. A couple of years ago he came home and said that he was going to go to hair school. We thought what the heck. There was no talking him out of it. He had decided that he was going to do it. He had checked out the school's and knew that he was going to go to Renaissance in Provo and when he was going to start. We thought that he was crazy. After he started of course everyone loved him and he was doing well. But then everywhere he goes and everything he does everyone seems to love him. Well the first time I went over there to have him do my hair I told him that I wanted it all cut off. I mean I wanted it short. I think the only reason he was nervous is because I was his mother. But he did an awesome job. When leaving there I thought, well maybe he has found his niche. And he was going to go somewhere and make the big bucks. Now I am pretty sure that he will not be doing hair for a living. We have now realized the reason that he went to that school, at that time. He meet his wife... You know when he tells me that there is a reason for what he is doing, I really need to start listening to him.
We are so happy to have Lauren as part of our family. Here are a couple of pictures of them back in November 2007.

Stay tuned for tomorrows blog. I am thinking 50 things that you may not know about Tyson... And if it is only 30 you will know that he can't keep everything a quite.
Love you Tyson.

My Soldier

Tyson leaves for Afghanistan on the 19th for 12 months. I decided that I am going to blog about him for the next five days before he leaves. I hope that he don't get mad at me but I am probably going to tell things about him that he might not want me to. Oh well, I know that he loves me and it will be OK. Tonight I just want to let him know how proud I am of him. Even though I wish he was right here is good old Spanish Fork with me. He does fill very strong about what he is doing and knows that he is where he is suppose to be. I am glad that he got his job in headquarters as he will have access to his laptop and his phone while he is away.
These two pictures are of him while he was in boot camp in KY. This first one was is July when Lauren was able to go out and spend the weekend with him.

This one is when Robert, Lauren and I went out in September for his graduation on September 11th. He received some awesome awards and we knew after leaving KY that we was going to do great things with and for the Army.
Tyson and Lauren are expecting their first baby in July. So hopefully he will be able to come home (San Diego) for a couple of weeks in July.
I am not the best blogger but stay tuned for the goods on Tyson for the next couple of days.
Love you Ty.

We are back to warm weather ?

Robert and I left last Thursday to go and see Tyson and Lauren in Alaska before he is deployed on the 19th of this month. First of all can I just say that I HATE to fly. I think all of the worst things when flying, I am always sure that I am not going to make it where I am going. And then to top it off I hate the rude people who always seem to be taking the same flight as us. Anyway despite all of that it was a great trip, we had a great time. It was great to be able to spend time with Tyson and Lauren and to be able to see beautiful Alaska. It was a bit cold for me but still beautiful. On Friday night we went to a hockey game with some of their friends from their ward. We went to their apartment to meet up with them. They then told us that we were going to walk it was not far. Well after the first couple of blocks I thought that my lungs were going to burst. But I just kept my head down so that the cold was not hitting me right in the face. We finally got there and the game was great. Then it was over and I knew that I now had to go back out there to back to the car. I told them on the way home that I have YW leaders and YW that drive across the street to the church. If it is snowing they call to see if we are going to cancel. I thought about them the whole time walking and was thinking what great big babies they are.

I have so many great picture so you will have to just suffer through. We were driving along the inlet towards Girdwood, this ice was along the side of the road.

We would be driving along this inlet and it would look like small pieces of ice, then it would look like rocks. Then you would see a little water. It was awesome. The best part was when we were driving it look frozen solid and standing still. We pulled over to get a picture and we could not believe how fast it WAS moving.

I just thought that this was a great picture of the sun really trying to peak out of the clouds. In Girdwood they have a ski resort. This was a fun little town with some beautiful mountains. These next two picture's I took from the car as we were leaving Girdwood, again the sun just trying to peek out.On Sunday we took a great ride out to Seward. This drive was through the mountains all the way. We really thought that we would see some great wildlife, but no such luckOK here is a little wild life. Of course I can not ever get a picture of Tyson being serious. In Seward there was an Aquarium that we went through. There was a kids corner and you guessed it look who had to try out the boat. While we were there it was feeding time. This picture was in the parking lot as we were leaving. The ocean was just so blue I had to get back out of the car and take this picture. You can not really tell but the wind was blowing like 90 miles per hour. I was shaking so bad I am surprised that the picture was not blurry.
As we were driving back through the canyon we came around this corner and both Robert and I could not believe the great sunset. These next 2 pictures are also out of the car as we are driving. By this time it was to cold to actually stop and take a picture.

We were a little disappointed that we did not see any wild life. We thought we are in Alaska, what the heck. We pulled into town and had to stop at their apartment to get them some more clothes to take to the motel room when what do we see in the parking lot ?????WILDLIFE.... 2 moose

On our last day there we drove out to the temple. It is a small temple but it was so beautiful covered in snow nestled in a corner.

We are so thankful that we were able to take this trip. Tyson and Lauren we love you so much, we are proud of you and what you are doing. I am thankful everyday Tyson for brave men like you who are able and willing to protect our freedoms.
